I didnt write anywhere near enough blogs in 2010, i think i owe 50k to charity according to one twitter follower for that. Thats pretty sick, 50k laziness fine, but at least it’ll go to a good cause- i’ll need to spend some time finding a solid charity, but thats some time i shouldve spent already anyway. Im about to watch 127 hours which ive heard is pretty good, so this blogs in a bit of a rush- I’ll try and recap 2010 a little bit at a later time. For now, i’ll just mention that i took my parents to jayz for new years, which i thought was pretty hilarious (and they enjoyed it a lot). Almost went to pca for the 100k, but got a bit lazy and wouldve been a hassle to get there in time since i decided so last minute.

So anyway, now im about to send my girlfriend erica 25$ on ftp and 25$ on stars, hopefully she can run up her 1st 50$ too. competition was a bit easier when i did it, but there were less microlimits available, so i think she should still have a decent shot. She’s gonna try to run it up to the 1500 or 1k or whatever it is for the WSOP women’s event, i’ll post some updates when she lets me lol. Anyway gonna watch this movie, i’ll try to remember to tweet what i thought of it after. My twitter name’s tom_dwan btw.

    Kinda bogus you, Ivey, and other FT pro’s won’t be on HSP this season. Any chance FT creates their own cash game show? Best poker on tv imo. Also lol @ the other sites “superstar showdown” being like 2 pots in your HU challenge… weak sauce.

    Never checked out ur blog, im from jersey as well (bergen county). Im a big fan, so you once in the bellagio not this summer but the one prior, i was playin 30/60 limit pretty sure u were playin that big boy limit game in bobbys room 2k/4k i think.

    Hey Tom! Happy new year! I want to wish you a happy new year and a very successful 2011. You may or not remember me, but something tells me you do. I am Mike Leibowitz’s long time friend. I used to spend the summer with him and his family at seaside back in like 02,03, 04. I think i met u summer of 04. Anyway I’ll never forget when you threw a party at that house you rented for your friends, and some asshole punched you in the face and ruined the whole party….. Later that night, me mike, and our friend will found that guy and beat the crap out of him…It’s funny how I remember you from back then, and reading about you now, and watching you (from home of course and what i read on the internet) become one on the most successful, feared poker player in world, absolutely blows my mind. 6 years ago.. I love reading the latest news about you. Especially back on highstakesreport.com when I used to read the results of your nightly heads up/or 6 man PL OMAHA sessions with players like Ivey, antonius, ect…and being fascinated by the fact that the guy i met back in seaside is playing in the worlds highest stakes poker games winning around 500k in 2-10 hour sessions.. obv we know you set an online record of winning over 1 million in just one day…i think u hit 1.2 right? but ill never forget reading back in like 08..i remember you had this week winning streak where if i added it up correctly u were up like almost 3 million in just like 8 or 10 days playing…incredible..dude i just want to let you know..im like one of your biggest fans..(im sure u get that all the time) i root for you everytime.. and i really think you are the worlds best poker player…and you continue to amaze me…I have one question for you??? Considering the stakes you play constantly, i mean it has to be possible a guy like you can make 50 million plus in one successful year..but you never read stories like that..these guys playing the stakes you do, end the year up 50 million…but like realistically i know you gotta be up soo much money..and i know full tilt release reports of players yearly winnings..but is that stuff accurate??/ either or, would you feel comfortable telling your fans the best year you have ever had in winning so far? including online, live, touneys and cash games…i’d love to know.     Hello. My name is Alexander. I am from Russia.
    In September 2009, I invented a new poker game – Oklahoma Poker (Omaha Poker with discards).

    Oklahoma Poker (Omaha Poker with discards)

    Oklahoma Poker Rules are based on the Omaha rules, although there are some differences.
    Each player is dealt four hole cards. Then the first betting round (pre-flop) starts, that is fully identical to Omaha.
    After the betting, three community cards (the flop) are dealt face up on the table. In the betting round after the flop a player should discard his pocket card (any one he wants) when making his first bet.
    Then a fourth community card (the turn) is dealt. After the turn begins the third betting round. In this round the player should discard one more pocket card, as in the second round of betting.
    Next, the last community card (the river) is dealt. After this the last betting round begins between players still in the game.

    The player wins the pot if everyone except him has folded or if he has the strongest hand at the showdown.
    In Oklahoma Poker a five-card combination should consist of two pocket cards left and any three out of the five community cards on the table.

    Oklahoma Poker Game Process:

    1.1. After mandatory bets (the big and the small blinds) are bet, each player is dealt four hole cards, one card per dealing round, starting from the player sitting on the small blind.

    1.2. The first betting round. Betting starts with the player sitting right after the big blind (clockwise). He can:

    fold,
    call, or
    raise.

    1.3. The next player can take the same actions and he can also re-raise if the previous player raised. The betting round ends when all active players have bet the amount of chips equal to the biggest bet. After the first betting round, the dealer burns the top card from the pack and deals the flop. Then the second round of betting starts.

    1.4. The second betting round. The first player after the button begins the action. If he has already folded his hand, the next player after him makes a bet, etc. The player can do the same actions as in the first round of betting plus check and bet. All these actions also apply to all other betting rounds.
    The feature of the second (and the third) round of betting is that each active player should discard one of his pocket cards (any one he wants) when making his first bidding in a round.
    Next biddings in the second (and the third) rounds stay the same, but without discarding one pocket card.
    After this betting round, each active player should have three hole cards.

    1.5. The third betting round. The dealer once again burns a card and places the fourth community card (the turn) on the table. Then the third betting round begins. The rules of this round are the same as for the second one.
    After the third betting round, each active player should have two hole cards.

    1.6. The fourth betting round. One more card is burnt, the fifth and the last card (the river) is placed on the table, and the last betting round takes place. So, in the end, each player has totally seven cards (two hole cards in his hand and five community cards on the table), from which the highest five-card hand combination is composed.

    1.7. In Oklahoma Poker the player can compose the best five-card combination only from the two hole cards left in his hand and any three out of five community cards on the board.

    1.8. After the river is placed on the table (or when only one player is left in the game), the dealer puts the part of the pack left on the top of folded cards, so he has both hands free to define the strongest combination and to pay the pot to the winner (or winners).

    Note: if at any time when dealing, one or more players make an All-in, the play continues acc. to the game rules. These players should discard one of their cards during second and third round anyway. The showdown and determination of a winner (-s) takes place only after the last betting round ends or after the river, if before that all the active players are All-in.

    Attention! In the second and the third betting round the first bet of each active player should consist of two actions. At first, the player should discard (any) one of his pocket cards and then make a bet.
    By discarding one card the player proves he stays in!
    The next player can make a bet only when the previous player has finished these two actions. If the player does not want to stay in, he can fold all his cards to the dealer.
    If after making his first bet in the second or the third betting round the player has already discarded one card, he should check, bet, call, raise or re-raise. In this case the player cannot fold since he proved his wish to stay in by discarding one card. He can fold only when making his next move.

    Hi there Tom , i stopped donating to charity and started “lending” money to people via http://www.kiva.org .

    A great site where you choose people and their projects to give a loan to them . They are repaiing the money within 12 months and you lend 25 $ or more to each person/ project .

    The best thing is , if you ever need the money again , you can withdraw all repaid funds ! The repaiment rate is something like 97 % !

    Have a look at the site , and NO i dont work for that site or am related to them anyhow , i just found them myself , when the site was discussed on a local austrian radio station and since then i keep relending my money ..
